I wish more people were less offended by incompatibility and rejection. Wouldn’t you rather be chosen by those who fully choose and accept you?
Let’s talk about something we all experience but rarely talk about with honesty: rejection.
It stings. Whether it’s from a person, a job, a friend group, or even a dream — rejection can make us feel like we’re not enough. But what if rejection isn’t always a bad thing? What if it’s just life saying, “Not here. But keep going — your space is elsewhere.”
The Truth? Incompatibility Isn’t a Flaw.
Sometimes people walk away not because you’re bad or broken — but because you’re not meant for them, and they’re not meant for you.
And that’s okay.
You shouldn’t have to beg to be chosen, shrink yourself to fit in or twist your identity to feel wanted. You deserve to be loved, celebrated, and embraced by people who see you — all of you — and still say yes.
Real People. Real Redirection.
She was once signed to international labels where her voice was barely heard. She came back home, and guess what? She became Africa’s number one bad girl — celebrated not just for her music but for owning her space.
Fired from his own company — Apple. Imagine that. The same company he started! But that “rejection” led him to create NeXT and later Pixar, which changed the animation industry. Eventually, Apple brought him back — and he transformed it into one of the most valuable companies in the world.
She faced countless rejections in the early days of her career. But she didn’t stop. She went on to write, direct, and star in Lionheart — Nigeria’s first Netflix original movie. She was no longer just accepted — she was celebrated globally.
Rejection Hurts. But Acceptance in the Right Place Heals Deeper.
Stop fighting to fit where you’re not valued. Stop losing sleep over people who don’t see your light.
Instead, save your energy for the spaces, the people, and the platforms that are waiting to celebrate you.
Because rejection isn’t always failure.
Sometimes, it’s just protection.
A redirection toward people and places where you won’t just be tolerated…You’ll be chosen.
Let’s talk:
Have you ever been rejected or told you weren’t a good fit — only to later realize it was the best thing that happened to you?
