Audrey Cyril Was Planning Her Wedding. Then Women Began Coming Forward With Allegations About Her Fiancé
When Someone Treats You Well, Why Do We Sometimes Call It “Too Nice”?

When Someone Treats You Well, Why Do We Sometimes Call It “Too Nice”?

We have become so used to complicated love that sometimes, when someone finally treats us well, we don’t know what to do with it.

They communicate clearly.

They don’t make us question where we stand.

They don’t disappear for days just to come back like nothing happened.

They don’t make us beg for the bare minimum.

They are kind. They are consistent. They show up.

And somehow, we find ourselves saying, “They’re too nice.”

But maybe they’re not too nice.

Maybe you’re just not used to being treated gently.

Sometimes, we mistake anxiety for chemistry because uncertainty keeps us emotionally invested. We call the constant wondering, waiting and overthinking “butterflies.”

We become so accustomed to having to earn someone’s attention that when someone gives it freely, it feels suspicious.

We start looking for the catch.

Why are they this interested in me?

Why are they always checking on me?

Why don’t they play games?

Why is everything so easy?

And maybe the uncomfortable truth is that healthy love can feel boring when you’ve spent too much time surviving unhealthy love.

But peace isn’t boring.
Consistency isn’t a lack of passion.
Communication isn’t neediness.

Someone who respects you isn’t “doing too much.”

And you shouldn’t have to be hurt before you believe that someone cares about you.
Of course, being nice doesn’t automatically make someone the right person for you. You should still pay attention to compatibility, boundaries and how someone treats you over time.

But don’t reject genuine kindness simply because chaos feels more familiar.

Sometimes, what we call “too nice” is simply what love looks like when it isn’t hurting us.

It gets better, right? Wishing you well.
